Maximizing value or optimizing transaction structure and terms is something that is of great concern to our clients across many different types of situations.
We are often brought into transactions to help represent our clients’ interests by building a case for value, and then aggressively presenting and supporting the case in negotiations with other parties. This role is not purely a matter of negotiation – rather it is often based on developing strong analytical support and effective arguments.
Being a strong advocate is a natural extension of our expertise in M&A transactions, financings and valuations, as in-depth value analysis is a core element of these transactions.
We are brought in to advocate for value at various stages of the process. However, it is often beneficial for us to be involved early in the process to allow us to help effectively present and support the value arguments before the parties become entrenched in their positions. In certain situations, we are called upon later in a transaction when a party encounters difficulties in achieving its objectives.
